Buy Button Bush at DNT Nursery.  This shrub is a very common mid-sized shrub that reaches up to 6 meters when fully grown, found in wet areas, and also near lakes, basically anywhere where it’s wet and has direct constant sunlight and in some cases may be under water for parts of the year. They are naturally native to North America and grow from Nova Scotia to Ontario and from Florida on west through the Great Plains.  This shrub may get its name from the appearance of flowers it is said to look somewhat like a pin cushion with long white flowers with balls on the tips and swollen stem bases. The leaves are glossy dark green that are spear shaped 18 cm long and 7.5 cm wide. This shrub blooms it flowers in June and stays in full bloom until late in September when the flowers sets and starts to fruit. This shrub has many uses in both the plat world and in the medical world. These shrubs are used to control erosion along shorelines. This shrub bark is commonly used by Native Americans as a wash for sore eyes, and as anti inflammatory medicine, anti-diarrheal agents, head ach and fever medicine, and as venereal disease medicine. The roots are also used to treat muscle inflammation. What a usefully little shrub.
