It is an herbaceous perennial this yellow-flowering gem will grow up to 80 cm in height. It grows in wet places including marshes swamps ditches and wet woods. In partial shade the flowering perennial will thrive and attract many insects for pollination. The stems are hollow and the flowers show during the early spring and last until late summer. All part of this plant can be an irritant or poisonous.
