The common sulfa butterfly often lays its eggs on the leaves, and the larvae use the leaves as a food source. The plant is an annual that reaches a height of 1 to 3 feet. The leaves are small narrow leaflets that are somewhat delicate to the touch. The showy yellow flowers are about one inch across and grow 2 to 4 together in clusters on the stems. Flowers normally bloom July – September.
